Gromet Inadvertantly Got Into A Painting Or Two

I think this is where green laning got its bad name.
Édouard Manet (French, 1832-1883), thought he might just get off with it. He had almost completed 'Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe', 1863, oil on canvas, 81 x 101 cm, when he saw Gromet. Poor chap, had to start all over again.

You have to look carefully, Jan Van Eyck did; he wasn't half fed up, The Arnolfini Wedding Portrait (Giovanni Arnolfini, merchant from Lucca, Giovanna Cenami and Gromet), 1434.

Rousseau began to paint late in life, not showing his work until 1886, in the Salon des Indépendants, where his paintings did not receive a favorable response from the public, though his fellow off roading artists were interested. in 1908 Picasso gave a banquet, half serious half burlesque, in honor of Gromet and of course Rousseau.

Yes! Leonardo didn't notice Gromet either, although historians think
Mona Lisa Knew Gromet was there all along.
