Subject: Melt down

We have completed the bodywork and started on the remaining work yesterday and have encountered an interesting problem in that when we went to test that all the lights are working, prior to fitting the LED sidelights, the Land Rover decided it wanted to melt its wiring loom from the section leading to the rear lights! So we are having to re-wire the back section of the loom and trace what caused this to happen so this may delay completion by a day or two depending on how long it takes. I will of course keep you informed.

Subject: Re-wired part of the loom

Hi Fionn,
We have re-wired part of the loom to the rear lights and also some of the front light loom, the cause of the shorting appears to be due to fuses we have tested the lighting and it is all working fine now.

The rear work lamp is fitted as are the LED front lights, rear load mat/sound proofing and the La Salle headlining.

Due to the melting of the wires to the lights I thought it prudent to re-work the wiring to the over-head switch panel and fit new switches and wiring in this area which is what we are currently working on. Then the new stereo will be fitted and the remainder of the interior over-haul. Due to this safety related work hopefully this will be complete at the end of this week or first half of next week, and of course I shall keep you informed of progress.

Gromet IS Refurbished

I need to put some photos up now but having had a new knee I am a bit stuck. One day soon though, when I have had time to wash and polish him I will take a few photos, he looks great by the way.
